"Don't SPOIL Your Enjoyment Of THE PHYNX, Read This First......!!!"
THE PHYNX, a barely released 1970's film that has garnered a reputation as either a lost classic or a well-deserved buried bomb has arisen from from the vaults of Warner Archives, and you know what? It's an enjoyable little flick! The basic plot is as follows, Albania has been kidnapping famous "Important American's," mostly celebrities who had retired or whose careers had ended long before this movie, plus a few ringers, and are keeping them hostage in a castle. Our government has made a few unsuccessful tries to rescue them (shown before the cool psychedelic animated credits) so head spook "Bogey" (Mike Kellin, complete with imitation) and his bumbling assistant Corrigan (Lou Antonio), after participating in a hilarious meeting with all of the Super Secret Agent bureau's departments, follow the advice of one of the younger members, "ask MOTHA." Yes, MOTHA (I won't tell you what that stands for), a super-computer that is always America's last resort, and it's answer is to...

WB Archive version dvd -- couldnt get it to play on Sony VX 530 player... it DOES play on the Sony S 360. movie script pretty lame, but fun to watch for the vintage camp factor.
